Highway 50 shooting in Sacramento County shuts down traffic
A pursuit in Sacramento County ended in a deadly officer-involved shooting on Highway 50. The chase began Monday night after a driver fled a traffic stop and involved CHP, Citrus Heights Police, and Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies, who used spike strips to halt the vehicle. Officers fired when the driver exited with what appeared to be a gun. The suspect died at the hospital. Westbound Highway 50 remains closed for investigation.
