Google’s launch of Aluminium OS, its merged Android-ChromeOS platform, is now internally planned for 2028, not 2026 as previously hinted. Court documents reveal a phased rollout starting with testers in late 2026. Meanwhile, support for the existing ChromeOS will be extended to 2034, ensuring continued updates for millions of users, especially in education and business, due to regulatory and hardware requirements.
