Texas has paid law firm Norton Rose Fulbright over $156 million in legal fees for its work on a major consumer privacy settlement with Google. The state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, sued Google in 2022, alleging improper data collection. The case was settled in May for $1.375 billion, which included up to $190 million for legal costs. Google did not admit wrongdoing but said it resolved old claims about policies it has since changed.
